East 27, Granger 12

5-0

We came out and, in my opinion, dominated the way we needed to to get this win. We made good adjustments at the half and shut them down the rest of the time. I'm very proud of you all for stepping up and taking on a challenge like Grainger.

I was impressed with our pass blocking and our aggressivenes on the defensive line. Trevor had quite a bit of time to pass and the defensive line was in the backfield all day long.

We have 6 games left, counting the play-offs and the championship game. 4 of those for sure, are going to be tough. If we can eliminate our dumb mistakes, we will win every game.

Things we STILL need to work on are protecting the ball and breaking down when we are going to make a tackle. We will continue to do both the tackling drill and the pursuit angle drill until we understand how we must fill lanes toward the ball carrier. These are very important.

I also wanted to mention two people that really stood out in this game. Alex May and Trevor Brown. Alex was moved from a LB spot to play defensive tackle for us. He could be the smallest defensive tackle in the league at 160 lbs, but he has a motor that won't quit and made a huge impact up front on Saturday. Trevor showed up 30 minutes before game time and was what I call "in the zone" as a QB. He is starting to think like a QB, noticing things that coaches notice and this is a good sign for the team. Good job to both of you.

Next up is Murray. We know they are quite possibly one of the worst teams out there, but that is how Kearns was and if we play like we did against Kearns, it will be very close. We cannot afford to have that again. We must show up for practice and work hard.

I'll see you there at 5:30.

Nice job on another victory. We can go all the way this year if we keep our heads and play hard EVERY play! We have a tough game in two weeks against you-know-who and we need to take it to them before they take it to us. I would just like to thank the line for the time I had in the backfield on Saturday, if we can keep it up in the trenches then we can make a play in the backfield.
